The small town Wanla is situated at 3260 metres above sea level near the confluence of the River Vapola and the River Shillakong, in the Northern Indian province Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the mountain on which Wanla is situated, the bCu-gcig-zhal temple can be found which is observable from a great distance and built on a narrow and rocky precipice. The temple is widely conserved in its original appearance.
